The course setting provides a more economical channel to learn the guzheng. Students are presented the material for the course and have hands-on opportunities to try out what's covered. After completing a course, students can practise the material covered at their own pace and register for the next course when they feel they are ready for the next level. They can also schedule occasional private lessons for additional personal attention to monitor progress and correction of techniques.
The following topics are covered:
Upon completion of the course, students are able to play some simple melodies on the guzheng, eg. Xiao Ao Jiang Hu, Kang Ding Love Song, Auld Lang Syne.

This course covers more basic fingering techniques including bending, glizzando and left hand plucking.
Many short songs and common melodies utilizing the basic fingering techniques are covered, eg. Jasmine Flowers, Tea Picking and Butterfly Chasing Song, Bay of Nan Ni, Purple Bamboo Tune.
Upon completion of the course, students are able to play some simple melodies on the Guzheng including some simple Grade 1 level exam songs like the Thousand Voice Buddha and the Slide.

This course is a continuation of our popular Beginners I and Beginners II courses and goes onwards to cover more songs and techniques, including the tremolo. At the end of the course, the student will be able to play some famous guzheng solo pieces, like the High Mountain and Flowing Water and the Fisherman Boat Song (Grade 3 exam song).
